Chicken Samosa Filling

Recently I attempted making Indian Samosa from scratch. The dough for the samosa turned out to be a complete disaster! However, the filling turned out to be a success and so it gets its place in my blog!

Ingredients:-

  1. 2 tbsp melted Ghee
  2. 1/2 tbsp Olive oil
  3. 1 tbsp minced Garlic
  4. 1 tbsp chopped Ginger
  5. 1 cup chopped red onions
  6. 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  7. 2 tsp chilli powder
  8. 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1 tsp cumin powder
  10. 1 lb ground chicken
  11. 2 small potatoes, cooked and diced
  12. 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  13. 4 tbsp chopped cilantro
  14. 1/4 cup frozen green peas, thawed
  15. Salt, pepper to taste
In a skillet heat the ghee and olive oil on medium-high and add the garlic, ginger, green chilli and chopped onions and saute them until the onions are tender. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder and cumin powder and stir well. To this add the ground chicken and work the mixture well into the chicken. Add the fresh lemon juice and cook the chicken for 10 minutes. Add the cooked and diced potatoes, chopped cilantro and green peas and mix well.

This samosa filling recipe will be enough for as many as 30 medium sized samosas.
